VRA Rescue Lithgow is a volunteer-based emergency service providing specialized rescue operations across New South Wales, including road crash rescue, vertical rescue, search & rescue, Drone operations, Swift Water Rescue and Canyon Rescue. We cover the entire Lithgow LGA.
No experience required and we are always willing to take people that are keen to learn.
We are currently looking for volunteers who are willing to attend Motor Vehicle accidents and other major incidents to assist with the extraction of people/animals in need. Always keen to attract problem solvers and people who are comfortable with power tools e.g. Tradies, technicians, mechanics, engineers.
We are also keen to engage passionate Outdoors enthusiasts that are familiar with some of Lithgow’s popular recreational sites e.g. National Parks and State Forests. Bonus if they have a pre-existing skillset e.g. 4x4ing, Rock-climbing, Canyoning, Mountain Biking, Remote Hiking.
Location
We work across the LGA and are keen to engage people both in Lithgow and in the surrounding towns- Portland, Wallerawang, Hartley, Tarana, Capertee, Cullen Bullen.
