Bathurst RSL Sub-Branch, Portland Chapter – Members

RSL sub-branches are local, member-based, not-for-profit organizations aimed at supporting current
and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families. Their primary purpose is
providing welfare services, advocacy, fostering comradeship, and organizing community
commemorations, such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day

Key Purposes and Activities:

  • Welfare and Support: Sub-branches provide practical support, including assistance for
veterans in need, connecting them to health and wellbeing services, and, in some cases,
    participating in employment programs.
  • Advocacy: They act as a voice for veterans, advocating for their rights, benefits, and interests
    to the government.
  • Camaraderie and Connection: They offer a social network for veterans to connect, share
    experiences, and support one another.
  • Commemoration: They organize and host local commemorative services to honor the service
